A Tale of Mountains, Distance, and a Fluffy Puppy.
We all know the couple, Alison and Tony. They are a package deal. Their little family is picture perfect. Everything about them fits together perfectly, but do you know the story of how they met and fell in love? Well sit back, eat some popcorn, and get ready for all the love, distance, and Larry you can handle.
Our story begins in 2011. Alison was living at home and working at a bar named No-Jacks. She was looking forward to an upcoming trip with her friends. There was a newcomer to her friend group, some guy named Tony. She had met him before briefly and informally. Vint said he was a Rule, but how could that be? Kimberly was friends with a Justin Rule, but she didn’t know there was a Tony. While on this trip, and trying not to look creepy, Alison snapped a picture of this “Rule” and sent it to an expert investigator, Kimberly. She confirmed what Vint claimed, Tony was indeed a Rule.
After the trip, Tony was a main member of the group and they were together all the time. The chemistry between these two was undeniable. In 2012, Alison decided to follow her heart and move to Colorado. The call of the mountains was too loud, and she had to go. The Welch family threw a going away party for Alison at No-Jacks. We all got to meet this new guy Alison had been talking about. The party was a success and Alison took off to the West. Alison, of course, told everyone and anyone to come visit her anytime! Her goal was to get everyone she loved to eventually move there.
In 2013, Tony wanted to become Cross Fit certified. He found a certification class in Denver, which just happened to be an hour away from where Alison moved, Fort Collins, Colorado. Tony took her up on her offer and came to visit. Alison welcomed him to the city. They went hiking, drinking, and ate lots of food. Alison took Tony to her favorite spot in Colorado, Grand Lake. They became closer than ever before. Tony was still hesitant because Alison was living 1000 miles away.
Fast forward to 2015, the year it all changed. Over the last two years, the visits to Colorado and Illinois became more frequent. Alison was becoming more and more homesick and wanted to be back with her people. Tony made his feelings known through the total destruction of a house he had recently purchased. Finally, the two made their relationship Facebook official, Alison moved back, and they took things one step further. They made Tony’s rehab house their home.
What’s next for these two love birds? Yes, you guessed it, a Puppy! Alison and Tony picked out the fattest curliest puppy of the bunch and in June of 2017 they brought him home. With a little help from Tony’s niece, Hadley, they named him Larry Superhero. Now Larry’s the boss, and he runs the house; that’s because he is spoiled, and Alison and Tony worship him. Their lives together couldn’t get more perfect.
In 2018, Alison, Tony, and some friends took a trip back to Colorado for Tour de Fat. They had attended this parade every year. The day they got in, they all went to Grand Lake, Alison’s favorite place. As the sun was setting, on a dock in the water, Tony took a knee and asked Alison to be his wife. This was the same spot, where 5 years earlier their relationship was just starting.
